DETRIMENTUM Announces New Drummer

December 23, 2008

UK death metallers DETRIMENTUM have announced the addition of drummer Steve Powell (ANAAL NATHRAKH, THEOKTONY) to the group's ranks. According to the band, "Steve is the perfect replacement for Jonathan Rushforth as he is extremely skilled, fast and very dynamic. DETRIMENTUM's music can only improve with such an intense and varied influence."

DETRIMENTUM's debut album, "Embracing this Deformity", was released in February 2008 via Grindethic Records.

Formed in 1996 under the name ZARATHUSTRA, the band eventually evolved into the monster known as DETRIMENTUM. Recorded over a two-year period, "Embracing this Deformity" "exhibits the band's exceptional depth and maturity in compositions whereby they craft an unconventional mix of old-school death metal combined with sweeping guitar melodies, expansive doom passages and tortured vocals," according to a press release.
